Your customers are a resource to be mined for their money. If you can ensure you continue to get their money you don't have to keep them happy. That's why monopolies and oligopolies are good ideas for business as your consumers now have no choice and have to put up with whatever you offer at whatever price you offer. If your competition is just as bad you have nothing to worry about either.

Your employees are also a resource to be mined for their labor at lowest cost. This follows along the same lines.

I would say it depends on the customer. There are several customers we have at work that we do everything in our power to convince them to go somewhere else. Charge them way more than any other shop, threaten to never do any work for them ever again when they complain about our work. We have one customer that reguraly bring us prints that have major errors on them. I know the print is wrong often before i make the first cut, but it isn't our job to proof their prints. We cut it to print, then charge them double to fix it.
